BEC CPA Exam Prep Course FAQs
Got a question about the BEC exam preparation packages? Read the answers to commonly asked questions.
What Is the Difference Between Group Zoom Tutoring and 1 on 1 Zoom Tutoring?
Group Zoom Tutoring is designed to supplement your CPA study materials. In groups of 10 or smaller, I’ll take you through a high-level synopsis review of the topic for the week. We’ll go through examples, discuss common applications, and I’ll answer questions that came up during your preparation.
1 on 1 Zoom Tutoring is there for when you need extra support for one of the modules. You’ll have my undivided attention during the entire session, and you will be able to ask any questions you may have. My students tend to use these as regular check-ins throughout the CPA prep course to check that they understand the CPA study materials. It catches any misconceptions early to ensure you are revising the correct information. They can also operate as a catchup session if you can’t attend the Group Zoom Tutoring.
I recommend attending regular Group Zoom Tutoring and booking at least one 1 on 1 Zoom Tutoring session 2 weeks before each CPA exam. During this private tutoring session, we can spot any areas that need improvement before the test.
Are These Packages Only For The BEC Exam or For All 4 CPA Exams?
Your membership package can be applied to the BEC exam preparation only or for multiple CPA exams. The longer packages offer better value, so I do recommend them for people who need tutoring for more than one exam. The membership package gives you access to CPA study materials for the payment period. Once you have passed your BEC exam, we will start work on the CPA study materials for your next exam.
Can I Print Out Your CPA Study Guides?
No, due to copyright issues, the CPA study materials are available as a read-only Google Doc. You can’t print them.
Do You Update Your CPA Study Material When Changes Are Made to the Exam?
Yes, I update all of my CPA study material and my CPA review course as a whole to reflect changes to the exam. This is my full-time job, so I make it my duty to keep on top of any changes to the CPA exam and update my students. I’ll notify you of when I have made updates to the CPA study material so you can review the new study guides.
Which Membership Package Should I Choose?
Pick the membership package that fits the payment frequency and commitment length you need. The longer packages will work out lower in cost over the entire CPA exam prep course, while the shorter packages offer more flexibility. You can switch to another membership package at any point during the CPA prep course.
Are Group and 1 on 1 Tutoring Sessions Included in Your Packages, or Are They Extra?
No, the membership packages only provide access to the CPA study materials for the duration of the membership. Tailor your level of support by adding on as many Group and 1 on 1 CPA tutoring sessions as you need.
How Many Hours a Week Should I Study for the BEC Exam?
My CPA review course is designed to work for the amount of time you can give rather than forcing you to complete a certain number of hours preparing for the CPA exam. No matter how many hours you can spare each week, my job is to ensure you do quality studying during that time. During the CPA prep course, I will teach you how to study in an efficient and effective manner so that you feel confident to take the exam, no matter how busy your schedule is.
How Long Until I’m Ready to Take the BEC Exam?
The time it takes you to finish the CPA review course will depend on your circumstances. On average, it takes 6 weeks to prepare for the BEC exam. But if you have less time to devote to the review course, then it may take you longer. That is okay – you have 18 months to complete all 4 CPA exams, so there is no rush.
Most of my students take 8-12 months on average to complete all 4 CPA exams. We can discuss a more accurate time frame when we make your customized study plan.
How Much Time Do I Need to Dedicate to Studying?
It varies from student to student. Some students may be taking this CPA review course to study for all 4 exams; others may have already passed some of their exams.
On average, it takes students this long to complete the CPA study materials for each exam:
FAR exam: 12 Weeks
REG exam: 10 Weeks
BEC exam: 6 Weeks
AUD exam: 7 Weeks
If you are taking all 4 exams, it will take you 8-12 months. But if you are working full-time, studying, or raising a family, you may take a little longer to work through the CPA study materials. That is okay; I prefer you take the time to understand all of the material instead of burning yourself out trying to cram in all of the material.
What If I Need Tutoring for More Than One Exam?
You can receive tutoring for multiple or all CPA exams on any of my membership packages. I do recommend the longer duration packages if you do need tutoring for multiple CPA exams because it is more cost-effective. Once you have passed your FAR exam, I will send you the CPA study materials for the next CPA exam, and we will continue our tutoring.
The packages are the same, no matter which CPA exam you want to do first.
What Is the Price Difference If I Want to Study For Multiple CPA Exams?
The package prices do not change if you are preparing for only the BEC exam or all 4 CPA exams. However, the number of exams you require CPA tutoring for may influence which duration package you choose. It is unlikely you will need a 6-month package if you just need support to prepare for the BEC exam, but the 6-month package provides great value if you are preparing for multiple CPA exams.
Once you have passed one CPA exam, I will send you the custom study plan and CPA study materials for the next exam.
Can I Pass the CPA Exam with Your Study Guides Only?
Yes, I‘ve used my 5 years’ experience as a CPA and 10 years’ experience in CPA exam tutoring to create comprehensive CPA study materials. If all you need is revision material, then these CPA study guides will be enough to help you succeed. However, if you need additional support and insight into accounting concepts, then supplementing the CPA study materials with Group Zoom Tutoring and 1 on 1 Zoom Tutoring will help you to synthesize the material.
What Happens If I Pass My CPA Exams Before My Package Ends?
I cannot offer refunds for unused portions of your membership. What I suggest you do is switch to a lower membership package as your CPA exams approach so you aren’t paying for membership you don’t need. For example, if you choose a 6-month package to start with, I would recommend switching to a 1 or 2 month package (depending on your exam timetable) instead of letting your 6-month package automatically renew.
Contact me at least 2 weeks before your package is due to automatically renew (I’ll send you a reminder email) to cancel your membership or switch to another payment package.
What Is Your Refund Policy?
I offer no questions asked cancellation for all of my packages but I cannot offer refunds for unused portions of membership. Once you cancel your membership, you will still have access to the CPA study materials for the remaining duration of your package. You will not be automatically billed for subsequent payment periods.
